Outside Architecture is a design-focused, architecture studio dedicated to modern, sustainable residential work. Our work is grounded and responsible. Our projects include single family homes, middle housing, vacation retreats, ADUs and boutique retail/commercial. Position: Project Architect

Experience: 6+ years

Education: Minimum, Bachelor of Architecture from an accredited university

Job Role:

• Collaborate on design of projects with our studio, our clients and contractors

• Create design drawings and graphics to clearly communicate our work

• Create construction drawings with our studio standards

• Clear, logical construction detailing layered with design intent

• Manage project consultants, contractors and municipalities

• Manage multiple small projects at any given time

• Keep organized, comprehensive project files

• Comprehensive studio involvement and support projects others are leading

• Commitment to help advance our studio’s work and culture

Required Skills:

• Command of residential, wood-frame construction, detailing and building code

• Experience delivering projects from design through construction

• Proficient in Revit and Sketchup

• Effective communication (verbal, written and graphic)

• Collaborative and critical problem solver

• Effective time management

• Passionate about the environment, sustainability and energy conservation

Preferred Skills:

• Pacific Northwest regional detailing experience

• Hands-on construction experience

• Passive House experience or CPHC

• Licensed Architect

Technical Skills:

• Revit (required)

• SketchUp

• Lumion

• Adobe (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

• Word, Excel
